Bagpacking to support Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012

Hull Students from Andrew Marvell College, Malet Lambert School and Victoria Dock Primary school came together on Saturday 6th October to bag pack at ASDA, Mount Pleasant. The students helped to raise just under £500 in just four hours. The week of events costs a considerable amount of money and that is why the students who benefit so greatly from the event wanted to help and show how much they value the week by helping to raise the money.

Ruth Badger former BBC Apprentice and International Business Guru supports the whole week of activities and said;

“When I was informed about how much the young people from Andrew Marvell College, Malet Lambert School and Victoria Dock Primary school had raised for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 – I was not surprised as Hull has a wealth of talent in terms of its enterprising young people and it clearly shows why the work the City and the schools are doing in developing an enterprising culture is working”

Blair Jacobs Chair of Hull Youth Enterprise Partnership said:

“Not only is it great to see schools getting involved in enterprise education, it’s also fantastic to see those schools that go out of their way to support Hull’s enterprising young people by raising funds themselves which will enable other young people to benefit from Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012"

“As we tweeted the pictures from the event a number were re-tweeted by celebrities such as Ruth Badger, Claire Young, Lord Sugar, Karl Turner MP, as well as many other organisations throughout out the UK and the World such as GEWUK, Tory Business, Start Up Britain and the international organisers of Global Entrepreneurship Week so there is no doubt we have got the message out how enterprising the young people of Hull are.”
