Hull’s young talent show just how enterprising they are

Students from Andrew Marvell College, Malet Lambert School and Victoria Dock Primary school are coming together this Saturday to bag pack at ASDA, Hessle Road. The students will be aiming to raise as much money as they can to help fund what is important to them. That being - Global Entrepreneurship Week, which takes place week beginning November 12th. Every year this huge prestigious event with the support of Hull City council and the local business community takes place to help our young talents unleash their enterprise ideas. The week of events costs a considerable amount of money and that is why the students who benefit so greatly from the event wanted to help and show how much they value the week by helping to raise the money.

Ruth Badger former BBC Apprentice and International Business Guru supports the whole week of activities and said;

“When I was informed that young people from Andrew Marvell College, Malet Lambert School and Victoria Dock Primary school were getting involved in raising funds for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 – I was not surprised as Hull has a wealth of talent in terms of its enterprising young people and it clearly shows why the work the City and the school are doing in developing an enterprising culture is working – I look forward to meeting the young people involved in raising funds in November and at the same time I would urge Hull’s business community to get behind the week as well as they young people are your future”

Charles Cracknell of Hull Youth Enterprise said:

“Not only is it great to see schools getting involved in enterprise education, it’s also fantastic to see those schools that go out of their way to support Hull’s enterprising young people.

“Andrew Marvell, Malet Lambert and Victoria Dock are showing just how important it is to them that Global Entrepreneurship Week happens every year and how they see it as an essential part of learning.

“Its people that make Global Entrepreneurship Week happen and young people are already showing their enterprising initiative by doing fund raising activities to help it to be the best week to date!”

Kerry-Ann Burrell Community and Business Links Manager from Andrew Marvell College said

“I am so pleased and proud of the students from all 3 schools for giving up their time to help raise the money. All of the students are excited about the week and look forward to it all year round. They want to do as much as they can to help make the week be the best so far and felt giving up a couple of hours was far from too much. I would like to ask the public shopping at ASDA, hessle road this Saturday to please support this huge event and give generously. We have so much young talent in the city and the week of events provides real opportunity to recognise and develop their talents.”
